Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani as well as a Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist currently competing in the flyweight division in the UFC. Valentina is her younger sister and a fellow UFC participant. Antonina Shevchenko first began combat sports as a Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals with a unanimous verdict. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second medal in 2007 with a bronze, a silver in 2008 and a gold medal in 2011 and then was named as the IFMA Amateur World Muay Thai Champion in 2016. Antonia started her professional career in 2003 and was the winner of her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina took on Isa Tidblad Kskikangas in the final round of Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut was in 2002, during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She was victorious by TKO at the end of round 2 and the subsequent 2 matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko stopped fighting to focus on boxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui in Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko was able to defeat Anissa with a unanimous verdict and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in 2017. In 2018, she resigned from the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko fought Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized her strike techniques to TKO Nievera in the clinch via knees to the body. Following this victory, Antonina received a UFC deal. Antonina Shevchenko debuted in UFC in the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but lost her second fight to Roxanne Modafferi on a split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler via a rear-naked choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko went 1-2 over the next three fights, defeating Ariane Lipski before losing to Katlyn Chookagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina was defeated by Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO in the second round of UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
