Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best eateries in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, living in the New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. Following her graduation with an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the industry of restaurants by registering at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful experience for me. It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was in Italy for a year, taking classes at classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) in Tuscany. She gained a deeper appreciation of Italian culture and cuisine during her stay in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to increase the quality of life for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of childhood diabetes. She travels frequently around the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am very fortunate to share my passion for life with people.
